On a more serious note, I wonder if someone will actually manage to successfully table a constitutional challenge against the welfare state based on the obscene effective tax rate on the young compared to their parents and grandparents.

Energiewende is another fabulous example of why price controls really suck. The price should be representative of local supply and demand and good incentives require actual, meaningful and economically sensible price (differentials). No one would be opposing grid expansion and no one would build

The green energy poverty mindset is literally poverty maxxing. AC in the summer and a nice comfy home in the winter should be the goal. I’m a big believer in 600GW* average German power demand as the success criterium of the Energiewende

I agree to the extent this can be done without frying the last mile of the grid, which I’ve become increasingly sceptical off. But that’s not a strongly held opinion of mine. If we had micro-price zones that would work tho…
