If there’s one thing I wish we had a better way to help folks on meds internalize, it would be to minimize “is it working/is it working right/is it supposed to be like this” thinking.

Not advocating blind faith, just that the observer effect is a thing and can get in the way for some folks.

That made it easier because I wasn’t compounding the anxiety with meta-anxiety around “withdrawal” - my new dosage simply disturbed the pond and if I waited long enough, the ripples would smooth out.

Having titrated off SSRIs before, what I find helped was not thinking of it as “withdrawal” - withdrawal has so much baggage as a concept. When I entered unusual negative or uncomfortable states, I’d remind myself my brain was still “rebalancing” its own chemistry in response to the change.
