Definitely getting these. The first two games I played so much. Used to do 100% races on keyboard. (Had 3 and 4 but could never get to grips with them.) Got dialup internet at home for downloading GP2 mods - a painfully slow process.

We were on the diesel #rpsi Special yesterday. Tickets for the steamers sold out too fast. But it was great as always.

CS Lewis would possibly be okay with Anglo-Irish, but he'd hate to be called English!

They all want it. But none want to be the ones in charge when it happens. And going down in British history as the ones that ended the United Kingdom. They'd be be perfectly happy as long as someone else could take the blame.

Oh, I didn't know there was a more recent one! You think they'd have learnt the lesson from 97.

1997. I’ve never watched Eastenders and I remember the (well deserved) outrage.

I don't think it should be renamed, but if it is my choice would be to name it after Robert and Ben Briscoe.

I've seen Sionnach recommended a good few times. I've only used it a little, and my Irish is basically non-existent (trying to improve), so I can't judge its quality.

Ireland was covered in his previous show - Union. Reasonably well I thought. Didn't shy away from what the Brits did to us at all. So I'm guessing they didn't want to cover the same ground. (I haven't watch Empire yet, but it's on my to watch list.)

So was I! We were told the result during the second English paper. We knew we were a goal down starting the exam. We could hear the cheering from the local pubs so the supervisor wrote the result on the whiteboard.

I think every British politician wants rid of NI, and every Irish politician wants unity. But none want to be the ones on charge when it happens.

Another good interview with @rude1.blacksky.team on the @techdirt.com podcast from a few weeks back. The Blacksky team are doing great work.

It was covered quite well and in good detail in his last series Union. It's really worth watching (though a slight quibble is the 20th C stuff seemed a bit rushed, so while the Rising, War of Independence are covered it's a bit light, especially on the British atrocities.)

Yeah, they're basically the same thing, just a different name. Partly because Americans couldn't find Ulster on a map of Ireland with the provinces highlighted, and partly because they had just considered themselves Irish until the famine refugees started showing up.

Scots-Irish is a thing. But it's not, as a lot of Americans think, Scottish & Irish ancestry. It means Scottish (& northern English) ppl who colonised Ulster as part of the Plantations, & then moved to North America within a few generations to colonise there. So they're far more American than Irish
