Dáil: Why is Peadar Tóibín lying about the Bill he voted against last night?

He’s trying to make people think that it would allow abortion for any reason up until birth - when it wouldn't. This is to cover for the fact that he opposes abortion in any circumstances - even in cases of rape or fatal f

Dáil: Disappointingly after great campaigning the Dáil has voted down a Bill to ban fox hunting.

This barbaric, cruel, colonial practice will continue for now.

But the campaign against it will grow. The will of the people will ultimately be heard and we will succeed in stopping it.

Jim O’Callaghan wants to talk about “social cohesion” breaking down, but he won’t talk about how his party shattered it. They created the housing crisis, sold the country out to the bankers, and continue to sell us out to corporations. They forced hundreds of thousands to emigrate because their econ

Corporations Should Not Make Money Off Suing The State.
'[A] parallel justice system accessible only by corporations for corporations to sue states if they intervene and interfere with their “legitimate” expectation of making profits. That is what this is about. We should be having a referendum ...

The Complex is everything Dublin needs more of: a community space, a place for artists to thrive and grow, and somewhere people can enjoy life in the city. At a time when urban space is increasingly dominated by profit-seeking and speculation, we have to fight for every part of the ci

An important protest tomorrow.
The owners gave notice to quit, stating that everyone must be out by 14 January.
The Complex can still be saved if the Department of Finance steps in and commits to funding towards its purchase. They must #SaveTheComplex

We’re glad to see The Irish Times finally taking an interest in foreign military use of Shannon, something we’ve raised for decades while calling for the eviction of the US military from the airport. But like every debate on neutrality, peace and security, this article uses a far-fetched imaginary s

Senior cabinet ministers told the Irish mail on Sunday anonymously that the occupied territories bill “is never going to happen,” that “the whole political climate has changed around this. There are myriad political reasons why this should not have been pursued, but now that the political situation

In the dead of night the government just signed away Irelands right to challenge corporations! Now the right to profit is the sole privilege of massive multinational companies and vulture funds who can drag the government to court if they harm their profits. For context, it’s easier for us to leave

Scandalously at 1am, the government has just pushed through a law with far reaching ramifications.

It allows them to sign up to a parallel court process only accessible by corporations. There they can sue Ireland if we do anything to interfere with their "right" to profit.

We need a movement of all those abandoned by these mouthpieces for global capital and the landlords to resist every eviction, resist rent increases and fight back against the destruction of our communities by the precarity of insecure tenancies and landlord neglect. We have to say enough is enough,
