Thank you to Cllr Ciara O'Connor of @labourpartyireland.bsky.social who has kindly offered to raise the concerns and wishes of everyone who signed this petition with City Hall.

🤞 For positive news in the coming weeks

⚠️A 70cm cycle lane unprotected from 60-80kmh traffic is lethal.

It's hard enough to encourage people to commute to work/school/college in the winter due to the weather and darkness.

However there's another variable that we can control (maintenance of bike lanes) which unfortunately, is often neglected.

Marina is great in fairness. Love the dirt trails off to the sides for kids to run or cycle into.

A least we have the new riverside walkway to look forward to. Oh wait...

Doing a school project on Switzerland, shout out to their embassy in Dublin for posting us down a parcel full of maps, info guides, and wooden cows with bells on them!

The benchmark for this, and any future urban park in Cork, should be what's been achieved, and maintained on the college campus, less than 2km away.

I wonder will this go the way of the CNN Reporter who said Cork was a bit sad looking and there'll be a big rebuttal in the paper during the week...

"We're proud of our buses, whenever they come"

Cork is a leafy city (in parts), but so are most other European cities north of the Alps.

Bike lane, Greenway, and footpath sweeping in Oct/Nov/Dec should be better than ↙️, ideally like the ↘️ photos from 🇫🇷 last week.

Not sure if these are views, clicks, or likes, but the X council account is getting less traction than even LinkedIn now

How are you commuting options need to be revised. Especially for a LA that has a 8% modal share target for cycling by 2028

Lots of people in 🇨🇭 seem to have opted for +25km/h pedal assist e-bikes.

Might be one to raise with the Engineers Oliver?

The lights only face the direction of vehicular traffic.

If you are cycling eastbound you don't see any lights.

A huge thank you to the ~50 people who have signed this so far.

I'll write up a background doc for elected officials in the coming days and they can take this further with City Hall hopefully.

📸 Daybreak this morning on the safer side of the N22.

The Straight Road cycle lane is awful and leaves people stranded while trying to cross a busy road.

Meanwhile, the same road (N22) has light segregation, an inner kerb, and a toucan x'ing a few km away.

Please sign this petition to call for safer cycling to Bcollig.
