After the failure of the Zumwalt, the cancellation of the Constellations, and the fact that every other new project seems to be advancing at the pace of a fucking snail, I would not be at all shocked if we see more vital projects canned and abandoned. This is how navies atrophy and die.

The Constellation class was a very realistic and practical design that had tremendous promise. It was not a cash cow of nothingness and false hopes like the Zumwalt before it, and filled an actually important niche within the Navy's surface force composition. Cancelling it is just brazenly stupid.
