I'm pretty sure I'm the number one Weezer fan in the DMV.

Gamer, Nerd, Movie Buff, VHS Collector and currently on a mission to watch every single episode of The Simpsons (to be finished whenever).
S35E5: Treehouse of Horror XXXIV

Coming off of the last one, this obviously had a lot to live up to. The Se7en parody is phenomenal, the one with the Homer virus is fun, but the first segment about NFTs sucks and brings the overall package down. It's solid overall.

S35E4: Thirst Trap: A Corporate Love Affair

Yet another Mr. Burns love affair, and this one is mid as hell. I do like the documentary-style presentation even if it's nothing new, and there's a few good jokes. The bit with The Beatles got me really good.

S35E3: McMansion & Wife

Three plots going on and all of them are boring. I guess the main one has the most going on but it's still pedestrian. The Nelson plot is whatever, and Lisa's rivalry with Hubert is typical stuff. I was mostly blank-faced through this.

S35E2: A Mid-Childhood Night's Dream

What an excellent character study. Marge suffering from Empty Nest Syndrome through a bunch of bizarre dreams is super inspired this late in the game. It's emotionally punchy, and while I wish there were more jokes, it was thoroughly enjoyable otherwise.

S35E1: Homer's Crossing

The description for this episode on D+ just says "Homer volunteers" - probably written by AI. At least the episode is decent. It's another "Homer Gets a Job" and it like usual goes to his head, but there's quite a few funny moments and decent satire.

The chart certainly paints a better picture than words can describe. This is the best season since S25, but as a whole it's more in line with something from the middle years. It's SO CLOSE to being decent but its stinkers drag it down. Up next: the season that was shortened by the 2023 strikes.

Season 34 was... disappointing. This is hardly the Renaissance some people have described it as. There's certainly a lot more highlights here than the last dozen or so seasons, but not enough to watch it all the way through.

Best: Treehouse of Horror XXXIII

Worst: Fan-ily Feud

S34E22: Homer's Adventures Through the Windshield Glass

A good finale. The concept is actually pretty inspired, there's lots of good backstory stuff, Lizzo is a fun guest star, good jokes, all around a fun time. The ending is very nice, too. Also, the intro with 750 characters is great.

S34E21: Clown V. Board of Education

It's Homie the Clown... AGAIN! They don't even try to hide it. It has a school for clowns (this time for kids) and it has a third act involving Fat Tony. Only thing missing is Homer saying he went to Clown College. A few bits with Fat Tony bring it up.

S34E20: The Very Hungry Caterpillars

Yeah, the "covid" episode. There is definitely quite a bit to chew on in terms of plot going on, and they got the vibe of lockdown correct, but there isn't much here to offer especially three years out. South Park has the upper hand on this topic.

S34E19: Write Off This Episode

Marge and Lisa start a non-profit and it's about as interesting as that concept sounds. Seriously, any other show would have gotten canned with an idea as pedestrian as that. Bernice Hibbert got to lead a song so that's different, I guess.

S34E18: Fan-ily Feud

This is a commentary on stan culture, and most based on Swifties and it SUCKS! The plot is all over the damn place, Lisa is annoying most of the time, Homer is unfairly treated, and the music numbers are flops. Worst of the season thus far.

S34E17: Pin Gals

I never thought in a million years that Jacques from Season 1 would return but the result is excellent. It continues the storyline from 'Life on the Fastlane' very well, Homer and Marge have great chemistry, and above all else it's funny. Highly recommend this one.

S34E16: Hostile Kirk Place

I understand the commentary on division and outrage culture they're going for but this is WAY too on the nose to be funny. There's admittedly some good jokes and the commentary is certainly important but classic Simpsons would have done this way better.

S34E15: Bartless

This is an interesting take on a "What If" scenario where Homer and Marge dream about what if they never had Bart. What makes this good is the fact it isn't mean-spirited and it actually has great characterization for the whole family plus great jokes.

S34E14: Carl Carlson Rides Again

This is the first episode in which there is no Lisa whatsoever. Not even in the background. Anyways, I like how we get another episode about Carl, but there's too much lore and not enough jokes. It's fine, but could have been way better.

S34E13: The Many Saints of Springfield

There's a lot of good stuff with Fat Tony and his gang, and I do like the idea of Ned getting involved with them. I think what prevents this from being good overall is the climax which kind of drags. This does have a great couch gag, though.

S34E12: My Life as a Vlog

A pretty good parody/commentary on vlog culture and YouTube families. There's a bunch of fun bits, and even some good jokes, plus I liked the presentation. I can't be the only one who noticed the KWYJIBO on Bart's Scrabble tile holder. A good episode overall.

S34E11: Top Goon

I do really like this sort of father figure role that Moe is playing for Nelson in this episode, but it's just all over the place. In the third act it becomes a Fat Tony episode and Homer is kind of being insufferable whenever he's on screen.

S34E10: Game Done Changed

It was inevitable we would get something about Roblox on this show. Thankfully, it's a decent episode. I love the operation Bart and Skinner run and the side plot with the rest of the family becoming addicted it fun. Did they get permission to use Mario SFX?

S34E9: When Nelson Met Lisa

I am all for revisiting this dynamic but this episode just ain't it. This show has exhausted all ideas for future episodes by this point and this is the type of thing that could have been done in the present. There's a few funny bits with Homer's narration.

S34E8: Step Brother from the Same Planet

This is a weird one. Abe gets a girlfriend Blythe who has a son named Calvin and Homer gets jealous of him. He's being a jerk for most of it but he does at least help Calvin at the end. The b-plot with the sleepover is nothing.

S34E7: From Beer to Paternity

An episode about Duffman! For once we get to see an actual human side to him, trying to reconnect with his estranged daughter. I do like the Homer and Lisa stuff, but I wish this episode was exclusively about Duffman. Also the ending is rushed.

S34E6: Treehouse of Horror XXXIII

One of the best ToHs of all time. All three segments are some of the best in years. Everyone knows the excellent Death Note parody, but the Babadook parody is no slouch, and SimpsonsWorld is references galore. I could watch this one over and over.

S34E5: Not It

A full half-hour ToH segment, and just like the duology it's based on it has a strong first half and fizzles out in the second half. I think the most impressive thing in this one is the excellent animation on Krusty in certain parts, otherwise it's standard stuff.
