I have been asking the Sixers to “overpay“ for Herb for three years. and I stand by this.
Since Herb Jones returned on 1/23, the Pelicans are:
- 9th on offense
- 15th on defense
- 13th in net rating.
But wait, there's more. In the JB era, the Pelicans are 10-10 when Herb Jones plays, 3-20 when he doesn't.
Insanely impactful player.

It seems incredibly stupid to trade a very talented young player while they are playing their way back from a knee surgery.

PG did this so they don’t have to dump KO and Drummond. McCain and VJ get more offensive touches and he’s fresh for the playoffs. very heady, good teammate.

With the sixers offense at full power PG should be shooting 10 plus 3’s a game and with the right actions a lot of them should be open.

Still optimistic but also:
Sixers have 2/5 of active players from the Bahamas. In the last two years they have had 4/5. If things go south, they could easily re-acquire Kai Jones, and Buddy Hield. Trade Jo for Ayton. Move to Camden go all in with a new theme. Call it the Caribbean of New Jersey.

I know they have struggled but Sixers will need Watford and McCain to beat teams without Jo and PG. Watford was playing really well before the injury the slow roll back doesn't make sense to me.

Well beyond the point where everyone with a platform should be forced to take a side on what’s happening in America.

Buter injury is gutting. One my favorite players to watch. I lived in Chicago when he was a young bull and watched him rise. Almost stole our Sixers a chip (or at least an ECF!).

The funniest thing about the VJ dunk is the concerned look by the vets. All the young dudes are excited, and PG and Kyle are just hoping he's okay.

The first game back home after a long road trip is often a tough one for a team. The fact that the Nuggets rested everyone probably made it harder. I think it's mostly funny they lost.

The biggest problem I have seen with the Embiid, PG and Maxey is lack of chemistry which makes sense and becomes more apparent as other teams get more comfortable. There is also a problem with hierarchy and disconnect between theory and practice.

Sixers still don't have a single lineup that has played more than 100 possessions. And most likely won't have one for a while. Not going to look at every other team, but a cursory look and every team I checked has quite a few. Their record is remarkable for the lack of consistency. still not ideal.

The Grimes shit is wild. While I do think Morey has a particular finance bro steak/fetish I also dont think he’s stupid and understands having long term control on a young player on a decent contact is better than taking the qualifying offer.
