I think valve put out a good platform ecosystem with this plan that covers all areas of gaming. Selling a few million decks when there's 100's of PC choices was a good sign

They've always been resistant to things with commercialish ties. KDE was hated for 20 years cause QT also sold their toolkit and everyone had to suffer with janky broken ass gnome for so long....man the GTK+ toolkit sucks so hard (i like taking an opportunity to shit on GTK)
