As an African decolonial socialist activist, I feel that there's a lot that folks in the nonwestern world need to decolonise, and sex and sexuality, are crucial parts of it. There's so much white Western colonial influence in nonwestern relationship with sex, relationships, etc.

We pose a threat, a crisis, for the existing regime of sexual differences regulated in law and through cultural belief systems, that underpins the supposed natural permanence this ruling takes for granted.

And it isn't just trans people but intersex people and people of many other sexually diverse experiences that complicate the magical belief that the sexes are complementary and separate forever and ever without end.

Trans people's human rights were written out in that ruling because to acknowledge the reality of trans people is to make the sex distinction itself incoherent. The ruling almost goes as far as saying so explicitly.

The enemy is patriarchy, it is the subjugation of a broad sexual underclass for the benefit of a sexual dominant class that seeks to attack anything that undermines the appearance of its natural perfection and distinction.
