Brewers Tennent Caledonian had several ads featuring Blue Brothers-type characters to promote Tennents Special, and in the 90s a number with one-word taglines: "Sadist", "Masochist", "Feminist", etc, to sell their eponymous Lager.

Add a Y to that word: that's the version I remember being most common. While it may not be heard much these days, sadly there's still plenty of ablist language in use.

The word spastic has been a particularly nasty slur in the UK for some four decades, after a children's TV show featuring a group of people with cerebral palsy, led to the unintended consequence of it becoming a common playground insult. Fortunately, it usage appears to be a lot less prevalent now.
