Yeah, I too hope it ships fairly solid out of the gate. Tonics (after all their buffs), finally ended in a really good spot, aside from all the menu/resource faffing about. Gotta imagine they learned from tonics rollout.

I assume it'll behave similar to tonics, so it should trigger quite often. Multiple times in an activity (due to ad density) and/or every (other) activity completion, depending on the activity type.
