Love my family history; social work quals and worked in prisons for years. Now gardening, enjoying my grandson, and researching, researching, researching. What could be better?

Q: Is there any case where the gender [of a noun] is altered in one [case] and not the other?
Nouns dont change form to show if they are subject nominative or object objective/accusative. Gender may change a noun actor /actress but the gendered form is identical regardless of grammatical case.

Just transcribing - notes taken by a policeman for court in 1897 my 2 x g grandmothers' hearing on a charge of procuring an abortion. notes trail off and not punctuated. I just needed to understand the context. Gemini insisted on giving background & synopsis which I did not need

Hi Bryna I just used Gemini 3 to translate a 34 pg court transcript with awful handwriting. Its done a great job & saved me time. I checked every page & there were incorrect assumptions occasionally. No problem - it was worth the time. Just be sensible abt limitations!

good idea. If you have a profession, look up the history of it in the area. Also search out old maps - very useful. Old street directories. Vestry records are great (money given out, illigit children etc). Build around & keep checking for new records. Good luck!

If records are not available, that happens. Look up the archives to find collateral info. Research the last Rev/priest to baptise who you have. Look into estate records. Research the village history. Spellings get odd before 1730. use the internet archive for history

God bless him, and help him to recover soon. He saved many lives - an example of loving your neighbour as yourself.

Use chatgpt - you get 3 free questions per day. I am decyphering a number of old documents very sucessfully with this method. You still need to do a final check, but heaps quicker than by your eyes only for the whole doc. only a page at a time though

So gather more info on her relatives before you start narrowing your research. Since other trees are inconsistent, forget them for now - it sounds like others have simply taken a stab at what might be possible. Is she catholic or protestant? did she immigrate? who was her husband?

Hi Brendan - using DNA areas will not really assist you at this stage of your research. There are 27 CS's born in Killarney born between 1869 & 1872. The Irish placenames are not consistent & may be a townland or a parrish (in different places altogether!
