If you call what you read an outright lie to create a gap, you can fill it with anything. I look at author intent with themes and character arcs. If your theory brings you pleasure, great. It doesn’t hold water with me.

Yeah, this Hooded Justice theory doesn’t quite make sense to me although I agree that Hollis Mason is unreliable. But I actually think almost all the characters in Watchmen are unreliable and you have to treat the story like Rashamon.
