I'm not sure how legitimate this advice is, but maybe you could make a completely separate account on some form of social media and try that? I don't have that big of a following, so I have less people to bump into, but a lot of the people that I'll find on sites like Tumblr, I never saw before.

Well, I you want to, you can diversify what you draw and just draw what you want. No rule is necessarily say you have to stick to one category

If your having trouble drawing backgrounds, I'd recommend on YouTube videos on Perspective and Backgrounds. Drawlikeasir and Winged Canvas are two of the channels that I used.
