There's a lot going on under the hood of City Trial, what with the many arena locations, bonus events in said arena, the legendary vehicles, KO-ing rivals to steal stat powerups, the two legendary machines, and more!

If you played Smash Bros For 3DS, City Trial is like Smash Run from that game!

City Trial mode is a 5 minute game (on average) where you and every other player drive around a giant arena, competing to collect as many stat powerups as you can to make a powerful vehicle to drive. After time is up, you compete in an event minigame that hopefully takes advantage of what you built!

I like that City Trial is 16 players instead of 99 and you can get destroyed in the middle of it and still pick yourself back up to play instead of having to sit in a queue for like 10 minutes stewing over a single mistake

That's a good way to think! TBH tho, I feel many competitive game players have main character syndrome and can't believe they can lose to a player they assume is bad.

Air Riders, if I lose a City Trial I'm left thinking "okay I can do better next time!" because it's not punishing you for trying!
