Not gonna lie, I'm freaking out a little about the lack of reporting on Marine Corps Commandant Smith's condition. Not because I don't think the Corps will be okay, it will ... but because I'm genuinely concerned for a good man, friend, leader, and mentor.

I see a lot of articles again lately about a Navy’s job is to sink the other Navy, period. I get it, young budding Mahanians. What’s often missing in these pronouncements is “in order to,” affect outcomes on land. No one lives in the ocean. A Navy that can’t project power ashore can be irrelevant.
