Your local MPs, from 3 parties, met with the Minister to discuss the future of the Colne Valley Regional Park.
Its 70 lakes and 200km of rivers are nationally important for wildlife. This area should be protected and the landscape restored for the benefit of people and wildlife.

Landscape quality is declining in parts of the Colne Valley. Here’s one of our Trustees working with local residents to remove years’ worth of rubbish from the hedges at #Denham Court Drive. That you @buckscouncil.bsky.social for your help in getting rid of it.

Unhappy to see his local countryside been spoilt, one #Denham resident decided to act to clean up the rubbish dumped in these roadside ditches in Denham Country Park. He organised some litter pickers, bags and for @BucksCouncil waste department to take it all away.

How well do you know the Colne Valley Regional Park?
#DYK it stretches from #Rickmansworth in the north, to #Staines and the Thames in the south, #Uxbridge and Heathrow in the east, to #Slough and #Chalfont in the west; that’s 43 square miles. Here’s a map

We turned up this morning to do a #volunteering day at Arthur Jacob Nature Reserve in #Horton near #Windsor and couldn’t access the site. Fly tipping is a big issue. Local authorities need a better solution to deal with this to stop it happening in the first place.

Looking to the stars, reminds us of this small, yet wonderful planet we inhabit. As #MapleCross faces huge change due to development, it is vital that communities can access places like @woodoaksfarm.bsky.social to connect with nature...

Hugely successful #LitterPicking event this morning in #Fulmer clearing near the Alderbourne River. Many thanks to the enthusiastic volunteers who joined. We teamed up with Fulmer Parish Council, South Bucks Wombles and Bucks & Fulmer councillors.

We support much of the draft #Buckinghamshire Plan. Our comments aim to strengthen it so that @buckscouncil.bsky.social can safeguard the Park for future generations, enabling it to realise its full potential for the benefit of people and wildlife

At the Colne Valley Regional Park trustees development day recently we took some time to reflect on our favourite places in the Colne Valley. It was great to hear the passion from trustees and staff for a wide range of amazing 'hidden gems'.

That canal side stroll was as good an antidote to the workday blues…for I had beaten off urban stresses in their own territory.

Floating Pennywort poses a continuous threat to our waterways, starving them of oxygen & choking drainage systems. It’s a shocker - it can grow up to 20cm a day & regenerate from a small fragment. Until 2014, this horribly invasive plant was still on sale
