DV cam's attract screen filtered through a bent Extron video amp, then various Andrei Jay apps, into a feedback loop.

A bunch of PXL + VSERPI + feedback + video bending experiments rolled into one clip. Excuse the aspect ratio crimes.

DARK GRIME 5

I spent last night on my favorite stretch of Santa Monica Blvd, visiting Cinefile Video (bought a bunch of kickass vintage studio wear they'd acquired in an estate sale) and seeing the rare big-screen presentation of a Kiyoshi Kurosawa film...

What an incredible recommendation for POLYBIUS from The Pamphleteer - it not only picks up on the vibes I was aiming for, but some of the larger context as well.

What started as footage I captured of Space Harrier on the #turbografx16 is now... this, whatever it is, thanks to a circuit-bent Vidicraft Vidmate, Andrei Jay's Temporal Mesh program, and Signal Culture's WeaverMA app.

Summer reads, beach reads, whatever you call them, grabbing new books on vacation has been a tradition since I was young.

POLYBIUS is an ode to the pulpy thrillers I'd pluck from spinning metal racks in random gift shops to read in the car, at the beach, in bed at night.

I didn't come home with pictures to share. For once, I put my phone & the small army of cameras I travel with away.

As someone who isn't comfortable in crowds or that motivated to socialize, StokerCon was a bit of a revelation. I met the *nicest* people, including a few personal heroes.

Prior to POLYBIUS being released I figured I should get back on social media, but didn’t know what to say or do.

I settled on creating & posting a series of teasers for the book.

INTERIOR SCAN COMPLETE

What started out as footage of clouds, shot from the window of a plane, becomes a high-tech scan of an alien super-structure after passing thru a series of apps - EFEKT, Glitche, V-Mass, & Interstream.

I suppose it comes for all of us - or at least all of us already wearing glasses and contacts - but I got my first pair of readers today. The sudden, acute sense of aging that I’m feeling is balanced by being able to comfortably tackle a long-overdue title from my TBR pile.

I created a feedback loop on a Sansui AV-77 video mixer, used the built-in transitions to make a series of shapes, then processed everything through Signal Culture's SSSScan and Interstream apps.

Running errands and popped into the Burbank Barnes & Noble to a) pick up some books and b) sign some books!

If you're in the Valley - or looking for a good reason to visit the Valley - stop in!!!

TORUS

Bent stock footage manipulated into... this, via Signal Culture's V-Mass app.

I created the soundscape using Spitfire Audio's awesome BBC Radiophonic Workshop plug-in.

TIL that analog tape - by the look of it either 3/4 or SVHS - is still the broadcast standard in The Mushroom Kingdom.

Popped into the Barnes & Noble Studio City location for a copy of The Demon Haunted World, signed a few copies of Polybius while I was there!

So, to be named in Variety - on a list that includes Nat Cassidy, Dean Koontz, and Stephen King, no less - is mind-blowing. If ever there was a Variety fanboy, I think I was it; this is pretty awesome.
