My former boss was scolded by his bosses for being quietly distraught that his dad was dying from cancer. Basically told him he needs to suck it up and forced him to go to Japan, missing his father's final moments.

I remember hearing the reason we can't raise the minimum wage was it would cause the price of everything to skyrocket. Now the price of everything has skyrocketed but minimum wage has stayed the same. Funny how that worked out.
