I manage the Clean Transport & Energy Storage analyst teams at BloombergNEF. Posts about EVs, charging, batteries, clean fuels, aviation, shipping and more. Opinions are my own.
There will be battery manufacturing in Europe, including jobs, investment and all the good things that go with that.

Most of the batteries will be made by incumbent manufacturers. That's ok.

Great piece from the Bloomberg News team

I hereby declare the latest round of hype for hydrogen fuel cell passenger vehicles over.

I'm sure this will come up again around ~2030. With similar results.

It's remarkable how fast China's ride hailing vehicles and taxis are going electric.

Chart is sales, but nearly 60% of of all kilometers travelled by vehicles on Didi's platform in 2023 were in EVs. Will be higher again this year.

Each year, I hear about all the reasons that EVs will fail, and each year sales keep going up.

On track for just under 17 million in 2024, in line with BNEF forecast's from the start of the year
