Of course it wasn’t literally the same, but I think you are missing the point that they damaged our country so badly that Farage became not just a possibility, but a likelihood - and that was obvious at the time (at least to some of us).

I left the LibDems on the day the coalition was announced.

I personally was clear in 2010 that Cameron and Osborne would undermine social cohesion, fail to deliver environmental sustainability, and further enrich the already very wealthy - they set us on the path that led to Nigel Farage.
