Yesterday was one of those days.
Those wanna scream/cry/pull your hair out stressful days.
And I am *so glad* I gave up alcohol 662 days prior, because if yesterday had also included whiskey or wine, it would have still been bad *and* I'd have a headache right now.

My sweet girl had knee surgery in December, and her recovery has been...an adventure. This is her post-wound inspection + new staples (since she popped her sutures). She liked the pain meds at least. 🤣

You won't believe this. My team and I make this show called SciShow that works hard to be rigorous and accurate while also being appealing and entertaining.
We reach a LOT of people every year with episodes about crabs and neutrinos and gender and cancer and vaccines.

I was just wrapping up my lecture slides + activity for today, which included one of my favorite clips from The West Wing, when we got the notification campus is closed due to power outages and high winds. 😭 I'll still get to use it all next week, but I'm bummed right now. Energy deflated.

Okay, I'm about halfway through *Hot Frosty* on Netflix, and, it's not as terrible as I assumed it would be? Or maybe it's just the right level of terrible that I need right now. ☃️

The boxes of Christmas decorations are coming out of the garage. For years, I was a staunch "no Christmas decor until after Thanksgiving!" believer. Then COVID happened. And then this year's election happened. I'm sick of postponing joy and fun because of a calendar. So, it's tree time! 🎄
