Just ban single use batteries. Far cheaper to buy rechargeable ones anyway.

The maintanence of a property can be achieved from an annual provision of 1.5% of the value of the property.
So, if a property is appreciating in value by 8-10% per annum, then how can that provision not be met?
The idea that the rent role has to cover finance, maintenance and profit is bullsh!t.

Let them apply for a new licence outlining the improvements to their processes and how further polution will be avoided.

There's a very simple solution.
When a company or LA is given a licence to discharge then a public real time water quality monitoring station should be installed down stream of their point of discharge.
And when they breach the terms of the licence they should lose it permanently.
