Best of 2025!📚Apparently I read over 31,000 pages this year! These were my favs. I narrowed it down to 18 across several genres, most stand-alone, and a few book 1’s if I loved the series. All in the order I read them (last 2 in the comments because we only get 4 images) #Booksky #StoryGraph

#99-101. I closed out 2025 with Christmas Catastrophes. Trixie Silvertail delivers pure-of-heart characters that somehow are always stumbling over dead bodies. Settle in with hot cocoa or peppermint tea when you read these adorable books about Santa's daughter, Cindy Claus. 🎅🥰☕ #Booksky

#95-98. I've posted about Amanda M. Lee before and I'll do it again. She churns out 2-3 cozy paranormal mysteries a month. Episodic and predictable in a great way. Strong snarky stubborn heroines, fantastical plots, and low stakes. I read these the way others binge watch their fav TV shows. #Booksky

#93-94. Pineapple Port's most recent 2 installments. Bonus - they were holiday reads! Halloween then Christmas. Quirky, loveable characters and absolutely absurd shenanigans. #Booksky

#91-92. How My Neighbor Stole Christmas & Merry Christmas You Filthy Animal. Book 2 was a book club pick, but I can't just start with a book 2 EVER and I'm glad I didn't. Book 1 was super cute with a witty, rhymey narrator. Book 2 was a sequel the way the Santa Clause 2 was a sequel. #Booksky

#90. Vera Wong's Unsolicited Advice for Murderers. This has been in my Libby queue for months and I'd totally forgotten about it when it popped up. Jesse Sutanto is SO funny. Absolutely adored Vera! Mystery, found family. #Booksky

#88-89. Cinder & Scarlet. My favorite version of fairy tales so far! There's so much more than a simple retelling. Coming back to read the last 2 Lunar Chronicles for sure! #Booksky

#87. They Both Die at the End. I had mixed feelings about this, and that's to be expected with a book about death. On one hand, this was such a a moving story that made me feel Big Beautiful Feelings, and on the other hand, I wanted to strangle the author for the unfairness of it all. #Booksky

#86. The Riviera House Swap. A cute, light, feel-good read for people who love watching The Holiday. Favorite quote from a carefree character: "Life is an adventure, and love is an adventure. And I live for adventure." #Booksky

#85. Emily Wilde's Encyclopedia of Fairies. I seem to be gravitating to strong female characters who have difficulty connecting with others. I just love them. Also, I discovered another series that I'm definitely going to finish in the coming year. 🥰 The TBR is endless. 😂 #Booksky

#84. Baking Bad. The title made me pick this up. The story kept me reading. Billed as "a funny cozy mystery (with dragons)", it definitely delivers. I really enjoyed the author's whimsical take on dragons too! #Booksky

#83. Modern Girl's Guide to Magic. This was very cute and I am totally gonna finish the short series. Paranormal cozy romance with magical gardening. 💖 #Booksky

#82. Nice Work, Nora November. My mom gave me this more than a year ago and I finally read it. Loved it. It was a beautiful story. Nora is dead at the beginning, then she learns to live. T/W: reference to suicide. #Booksky

Posting the last of my 2025 books today! #81. Dreamland Burning. I wish that my history classes had brought the events of our past to life the way books like this do. Should be required reading for everyone in the U.S. And this would be excellent for highschool age as well. #Booksky

#80. Nightmare at the North Pole. Lighthearted cozy mystery about Jack Frost's daughter that gives you exactly what you expect from holiday themed escapeism. And yet these books mean so much to me. Read the comment below to learn why I am a Kristen Painter fan for life. #Booksky

#78-79. Dial A for Aunties & Four Aunties and a Wedding. These were bonkers in the BEST way. I've got book 3 in my Libby queue! My Big Fat Greek Wedding meets Weekend at Bernie's. Settle in and enjoy the ride. #Booksky

#77. A Grave Robbery. Look. I'm just saying that Veronica Speedwell's adventures MUST continue forever. I read all of them this year and the next one comes out in 2026, and I just hope with all my heart that it's not the last. I will totally cry when this series ends. Excelsior! #Booksky

#76. A Sinister Séance. Back to the cozy paranormal world I go! I'm really enjoying Luna's story, and this installment was a lot of fun. Snarky, found family, crazy-pants magic. #Booksky

#73-75. Miss Percy's Guides to Dragons. Oh my goodness these were wonderful! Absolutely loved them. Read if you like extremely proper British heroines who embrace adventure and find strength under remarkable and whimsical circumstances. Delightful story from beginning to end. Plus DRAGONS!😍 #Booksky

#71-72. The House on the Cerulean Sea & Somewhere Beyond the Sea. Continuing my TJ Klune journey with this lovely pair! To me, not quite as moving as Under the Whispering Door, but still enjoyable. PS: I'm a couple of months behind on posting but have been reading my ass off. Incoming! 📚📚📚 #Booksky

#70. Under the Whispering Door. I love books. My whole life, I've been able to disappear into them. As an adult I have rated a lot of books 5 stars because I can't compare them to each other, but rather to what it is they intended to do. (1/7)

#69. A Sinister Revenge. I thoroughly enjoyed dipping back into a Veronica Speedwell mystery. This is easily in my top 5 favorite series. Love how Veronica and Stoker's characters have developed over these books! 💙 #Booksky

#68. Shee McQueen: Bloodlines. Spin off series from Pineapple Port Mysteries, and I love how different it is! These are like cheesy action movies in book form. 😄 #Booksky

#67. Pineapple Easter Egg. Always fun revisiting Pineapple Port and all of its wacky characters. 🥰 Light mysteries with laugh out loud moments and plenty of absurd crimes to solve. #Booksky #FloridaMan

#66. Crocodile on the Sandbank. I started with audio but did not enjoy the narrator. I hear the version with multiple actors is much better. Switched to Kindle and loved this story! Looking forward to reading more of this series. Similar energy to Veronica Speedwell. #Booksky
