Phone the facility morning and evening: it's nearing the holidays and patients cancel at last minute. Ask if any "same day cancellations." You'd need to be ready to turn on a dime. Tuesday is soon, tho'! Bests from NYC.

Just read it, thanks for link. Telling it like it is -- "Your Constituents Will Not Vote for You When They See You Don't Have Their Interests Top of Mind" -- is something one would think would light a fuse in incumbents' heads. Makes no sense they refuse to see the benefits.

Wouldn't Republicans who join Dems to support extension of ACA subsidies be hailed as heros, easily reelectable and not primaried? Therefore, why their reluctance?

Was thinking Sat-Nep-Aries tied to Ukraine as forced (Aries) surrender (Nep) of boundaries (Sat). This applies to the US too. Interesting that the 1953 Russia cycle saw birth of Putin who is the one who wants these territories, which has been his committed (Sat) dream (Nep) for a long time.

Ah, an important male figure in the life!

Oh, this was ages ago. I was doing a course in website design or some related software and the instructor (who did it for a living, told us that for "readability" that serif'd fonts were best). Highly unscientific.

I find this fascinating. Never knew serifs had been somewhat dethroned. Personally I think serif fonts make words easier to zip through, but sans serif are often so elegant and artsy. For "pretty" stuff I like sans serif. But looking at a sans serif biz card is not work mode!

Thx for this! But if "...sans serif fonts have performed better in more recent empirical studies" then what does "performed better" mean? Content in sans serif sells more stuff or gets "likes"? The "studies": By whom? How large was the cohort? Bests from NYC1

Serif fonts were always deemed easier to read. And Calibri has no serifs. Wasn't aware of the switchover.

As freelance biz-journo I spoke w/various entrepreneurs as a story's featured source. They'd brag about revenues, projected growth. Next day when I phoned for the official interview they'd say, "I talked to my CPA who said I shouldn't talk to you." Creative accounting had been involved, I guess.

Last thing about the Daddy archetype: Kept thinking of "Lethal Weapon" when Martin Riggs shouted, "Let's get the flock out of here!" But now, it's the voting flock that stays, and the congress person flees.

I often think these resignations/decisions not to seek a new term are rooted in this: "I liked my work when things were calmer. Realistically I don't have the energy to give what these fraught times and really demanding voters expect me to deliver." With Saturn it's either work harder or exit.

...but also obligation as elected official to be the leader (whether male or female) of their voting-district family. So I think it's both fear of the archetypal Big Boss Daddy but also awareness that the elected official has failed to be, at minimum, a responsible unisex Father to the flock. 2/end

Re "Big Daddy" you mean increasingly attractive choice to resign, yes? I think many pols who achieve decent careers do it during eras when moderation was all you needed and constituents weren't in panic/demanding mode. I think "Big Daddy" can surely be the fear monger. But also...1/
