Sharing my maker projects, gardening, cooking, tech/electrical engineering, and random things I enjoy. "Flashes" is my preferred client, so expect lots of images with some journaling.
3rd attempt at injera. Haven't quite achieved the crepe consistency with bubbles on top. I have a hunch it's some combination of temps during fermentation, and proper amount of yeast. All my Ethiopian friends use "intuitive cooking" without strict measurements, so it's trial and error so far.

Trying something to prevent flopover

Watching my French T survive cold stratification. Still seems to be spreading.

French tarragon - year 2 - outdoors in hardiness zone 8A. The top died off, and was afraid it didn't make it. I couldn't have been more wrong. This part of the deck has a strong sweet smell, and I've noticed little green caps popping up. Rhizomes have definitely spread.

I've been a little distracted lately. Caught wind of the existence of Steam Deck/Steam Machine/Bazzite. Decided to build a powerful gaming console, and unintentionally descended into a spiral of addiction. Don't be like me - if someone offers you steam, just say no.

My family/friends are having a loud argument over this muffin pan. Started with an argument over the difference between a pound cake and a bundt cake since they use the same pan. After dinner convo is kind of unhinged LOL. Merry Christmas friends.

Thoughts on Bluesky as a social: awesome design in terms of personalization. First site I've used that lets me remove the main feed algorithm. Coming from Facebook and youtube where it's forced on the users, it's a slice of heaven. Only downside is lots of lurkers, needs more content creators.

French T growing slowly up top, but seems to be doing well. I think moving it to this deep planter was the right idea. #gardening

Finally getting some traction

Decided to try moving my french tarragon plants to large planters. Noticing some new growth - albeit pretty slow. #gardening

Temps are dropping, so my tropicals need to come indoors. Starting to think I may need to take the plunge and build a greenhouse. Part of me wants to just sell my home and move to the tropics #gardening

Place called "Yumee Katsu" on Old Norcross in Duluth Georgia. Same place "Thank U Chicken" was located previously. This is how eating out around twenty bucks per person should be done.

More curry tree berries. At least I managed to give some away. Still have another 40 or so to find homes. New batch is 11 sets of ~20 😬 #gardening

Two new plants that I have no idea if can overwinter in a few years: moringa , and true cardamom (a little yellow after shipping). I guess if I either obtain a giant greenhouse, or move to tropics money, I'll be set. #gardening

Progress

Inspired by my luck with the curry leaf seeds, I've decided to also retry cacao. This time, I'm going with these taller nursery pots and following these instructions youtu.be/3Zp309bwIk0?...

More germination pics.

That is really cool haha

That was quick. This usually takes about three weeks or more. I guess pulled straight off the tree the moment the ripen is the way to go. Others are starting to visibly swell. No luck on the scarified musa velutina yet. #gardening
