From Funnybones to The Jolly Postman to Each Peach Pear Plum to Peepo, Allan Ahlberg played a part in writing some of the most timeless children's books which were a magical part of my childhood &, now, form part of the memories I have made with my own daughter.

As much as, in 'normal' times,I love the US & places like LA,I love going places where there is a lot of 'nothing' (especially when I see my friends in Kansas).I honestly feel most free in those places

80 years ago, today, my Great Uncle John took part in Operation Varsity which played a large part in bringing an end to WWII.
I have always been immensely proud of him & what he & his fellow RAF crew did that day should never be forgotten.

After 5, quite honestly enjoyable, months out of the working world (I could easily retire tomorrow if I had the money) I am heading back to the office on Monday to start a new job.

She spotted it when we were shopping the other week, here in the UK, & had to have it.
Not cos she has a clue about American Football, but cos it said 'Kansas' on it & she knows she's been there & we have good friends there.
