I'm just so tired of the short term thinking prevalent everywhere in society.

"We get most of our water from our aquifers... Let's build over the entire recharge area!"

"Our schools and other local amenities rely on property taxes for funding... Just go ahead and eliminate property taxes!"

A massive low density residential only development along an arterial road far from daily amenities swallows up 100s of acres of land. Not a single peep is brought up by anybody but perhaps the native plant society people.

A mixed-use apartment with ground floor retail gets planned right next to a grocery store and other daily amenities in walking distance. The hive of WASPs living in the low density neighborhood next door start losing their shit.

I just wish I had some sort of direction. Anything. Getting back responses like "Well if you want it, do it." Doesn't exactly work on someone who has lived the majority of their life depressed and suicidal. If you ask me what I want, my answer is to not be here anymore.

People keeps saying things along the lines of "Well if you really want it, go for it" and stuff. I get it, nobody is as invested in my life as I am, naturally. So of course they are going to give me a blasé answer. That's what I've received my entire life even from family.
