One common denominator in the A-has my clients and I experienced:
discomfort is the gateway to getting what you want and need.
This is a pretty simple realization, but, for me,

It's solstice weekend -- So. Much. Light.
Spending today mapping out my work for the next three months.
I like to think I can keep all of this in my head but I've learned I need a written plan that can focus me and that can flex when needed.

As a small business, it's important for me to have a LinkedIn page that showcases my work AND gives people a sense of what it is like to work with me.
Today I created and did a bit of work on my business page, which now exists in addition to my personal page.

For my #AcademicSky folks:
can you think of a time when a major disappointment turned into the first step on an even better path?

I feel like this happens all the time in my own life but I'm super curious if other people see this happening for them, too.

Are you looking to polish your professional presence and findability in these "uncertain times?"
If so, having an excellent webpage is one way to do that.

If your website doesn't bring you joy, talk to Jennifer about how to present yourself and your work in the most compelling and findable way.
When people Google your name, can they find what you want them to know about you? #AcademicSky

You deserve a digital footprint that shares your research, teaching, and what you value as an academic (if you want one).

Sitting with, & getting to the other side of, discomfort is your secret key to:
writing more consistently
dealing with revisions & rejections
more visibility
and so much more.

You don't have to love discomfort. But if you are prepared for it & know what to do when it hits -- magic.

As we enter the end-of-year period of reflection, it's time to remember that it is not the responsibility of your job or your marriage or your kids to make you happy.
Those relationships are the containers for you to learn how to grow personally and spiritually.

This morning, two of my clients and I ended up talking about busyness, anxiety, and mindfulness.
I recalled the lesson, "You should meditate for half an hour/day, unless you are very busy--unless you are very busy, then you should meditate for an hour."

As a coach for #scholars and #academic, I ask a lot of questions that are NOT about ppl's subject matter expertise.
"Who ARE you when you feel productive and focused?"

"How much of your life and work feels like it has a difficulty rating of 11/10?"

Sometimes my clients just freeze-How about you?
