The Spring Family Focus workshops have made a great start with music last night. Year 4,5 & 6 pupils from the primaries brought a parent with them to all have fun making music together with household items and percussion instruments.

Some of the Partnership primary schools came to CNS yesterday for a hockey festival led by the Year 12 sports leaders. We were lucky to have good weather for the event, making it even more enjoyable!

It was the final week of the Science club this week. Over the 3 weeks the young scientists have learnt about whether there could be life on Mars, or if humans could survive there. They used exciting equipment such as bunsen burners and microscopes, and even discovered how to make their own fuel.

Nominated pupils, interested in Drama, from the partnership primaries joined us for a workshop themed on The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night Time on Monday led by CNS Drama teacher Mr Moss. They worked really well together to put together freeze frames and short sketches.

Students from the partnership primary schools came to the first of three Science club sessions yesterday. The club will help them explore 'Life on Mars'. They really enjoyed using the microscopes this week.

Congratulations to Hook Norton School who won the Partnership Literary Quiz this year, showing their superb knowledge and interest in books and literature. Well done to all the schools who took part, it was a very enjoyable afternoon and thank you to Mrs Bovington for organising the event.

We had a really fun afternoon at the Ball skills festival yesterday. Our Year 11 sports leaders were fantstic, and the Years 3 & 4 from Holy Trinity, Hook Norton, Kingham & Great Tew really enjoyed working with them.

Nominated pupils from Years 4&5 came to an Art workshop at CNS yesterday. They found out how to do prints, using printing ink on the table then drawing over Circus pictures from the other side of the paper. All the students concentrated really well, and seemed to enjoy the activity a lot.

Mrs Duffy brought 'A Christmas Carol' to life for our Able, Interested and Motivated Year 4s & 5s. During the workshop they read, designed costumes, wrote, explored characters, discovered interesting vocabulary and worked with new friends. It was a fantastic start to the Christmas season!

CNS Year 12 Sports Leaders led the Partnership Primary schools in a Netball Tournament yesterday. Four different winners ths time - The Big Schools was won by Charlbury (girls) and Hook Norton (boys), and the Small Schools was won by Chadlington (girls) and Enstone (boys). Well done everyone.

Keen young mathematicians have signed up to take part in two workshops at CNS to work with our keen Year 12 mathematicians. They are looking at how art can be generated from mathematical patterns.

CNS Sports leaders visited Holy Trinity this week to work with the Year 3s in a Dance workshop using the theme of 'The Mr Men & Little Miss'. Looks like they all had a great afternoon.

Some teams of children selected from six of the partnership primary schools enjoyed playing boccia this afternoon with some of our volunteer Sports Leaders from the sixth form. It was a really fun afternoon. One of the Hook Norton teams came first in the final. Well done to you all.

Selected students from the partnership primary schools came to take part in a music workshop yesterday. They learnt about samba rhythms from Mr Brown, Head of Music, and created music with this theme with the help of some of our GCSE students.

CNS Year 12 Sports Leaders really enjoyed visiting St. Mary's this week to work with the Year 3s in a dance workshop. In groups, they taught them some dance moves and put together a short routine to share with the rest of the class.

With thanks to the Design & Technology department we hosted a workshop for selected pupils from the primary schools yesterday afternoon. They designed and printed pencil cases using the sublimation technique. What a brilliant afternoon they had!

We kicked off our CNPS sporting calendar with the U11 Football Tournament yesterday. All teams showed excellent teamwork and the event was delivered brilliantly by our Yr12 sports leaders. Winners were Hook Norton, Charlbury and Great Tew!
