Not only did a supermajority of the @council.nyc.gov pass Int. 1135, but his own agency enthusiastically supports the bill. If the Mayor wants to lose yet another battle with the Council we’ll oblige him.

Not sure what’s more shameful: Mayor Adams doing the bidding of a multi-billion-dollar corporation; breaking a 2022 promise to workers; or abandoning a largely immigrant workforce already under federal attack.

Since becoming Chair of @council.nyc.gov's Criminal Justice Committee, I’ve heard from countless concerned Probation Officers raising alarm about the agency’s direction. For 15 months, they’ve asked for help. Yesterday’s hearing finally brought their concerns to light. 🧵
Next Monday I'll be chairing an oversight hearing with a focus on DOP's organizational strategy.
We'll be digging into their operations, which play a key role in keeping people out of our city jails and setting them up for success.
