i think white americans tend to discredit how much of their life is steeped in white culture all the time bcs there's an idea that what we do isn't culture it's just Normal that's fucked and it's white supremacy. it's not Normal to live like a white person, it's just white culture being pushed as The Norm. ultimately american culture is influenced greatly by white culture bcs it is imposed upon us, not becauae that's just how culture is Supposed To work. i'm just gonna list stuff that's european or european-american in origin. if you participate in any of this or have been influenced by any of this (including & perhaps especially if it was imposed upon you and your people, and including if it was adopted into your culture From white culture/s willingly) then you've Interacted With white culture/s, even if you are not white. protestantism. catholicism. ashkenazi judaism. mormonism. purity culture, anti-nudity, homophobia, transphobia, white supremacy. modern racism. being a butch or a femme. the actual words gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender. speaking english or spanish or french or another european-origin language at all cuisine- italian food, french food, greek food, etc. irish pubs. pizza, pasta. chocolate the way we eat it today is a european invention. MANY cheeses - cheddar, mozzarella, brie, feta, havarti. wheat and cows were introduced to the americas by settlers... fucking Hamburger. the amount we LOOOVE eating beef .. ... Soda Pop. the protestant work week. urban sprawl and suburbanization. always being in our fucking cars. not giving a fuck about the land. industrialization. who does it serve to forget the white origins of these things? what's the actual point in removing whiteness from the equation when it comes to discussing culture? white cultures Exist and they are forced on every american lol and similarly, a lot of facets of American Culture are influenced by black cultures, native cultures, and the cultures of non-white immigrants. how often do you eat soul food? food from asia or latin america or africa? rock and roll, jazz, blues. domesticated cannabis is from asia. domesticated white rice is from asia. indigenous people of the americas are responsible for the domestication of: potatoes, corn, tobacco, tomatoes, CHILI PEPPERS, cassava & tapioca, sweet potatoes, barley, sunflower, chia, squash, peanut, cocoa. SO MANY FRUITS. ...and who would it serve to forget the origins of Those things? to obfuscate these achievements as raceless, or as monolithically American? think about it (emoji of a hand pointing a finger at you, the viewer)

i think for probably a Good number it's probably not malicious. just like "well, i dress masculine but i just don't feel like a Butch because butches (want to protect others, are good with their hands, are tough, are masculine in personality)" or some other generalization like that. where it's not Hateful, it's just a more specific thing in their head that doesn't reflect the real diversity of butchness HOWEVER. i do also think that butch and femme as labels inherently imply subversion, political mindedness, community involvement, a working class background, etc. and if those things aren't true for someone, Are they butch?? at my local shelter. literally started tearing up when i saw her

every member of the server will have their own private channel. they'll be able to post in & edit their own channel. other people can get a role that indicates they are "listening to" that person, which will allow them to see their posts and react to them with emojis. the member can manage their own channel - they can allow people to send messages if they're ok with replies a "Public" channel will work as a public feed where everyone in the server can post, and can see, reply to, and react to everything posted. this is not intended as a regular discord server w/ conversations. it is a Vent App Simulator.
