For my 1980s party I aimed for Stevie Nicks and totally hit Debbie Gibson...

I was miffed it wasn't this squirrel pic. This little guy had no fear of us coming out to the porch while he was busy at squirrel business.

You just died.

The 6th picture in your phone gallery is what killed you.

Too real.

Gabourey Sidibe plays Odessa, an outspoken employee at the Tower who has a particular set of skills. She practiced her scene stealing chops right in the faces of all these actors.

Michael Peña plays Enrique Dev'Reaux, something of a side kick character. Fortunately 'irrepressible side kick' is one of his specialties. His character is functional not motivational, so he grants no points to the D/W/E team and keeps them all for himself.

Téa Leoni plays FBI Special Agent Claire Denham which is another character that feels like 60% of her story wound up on the floor. She did what she could with what she had.

Judd Hirsch plays Josh's boss, Mr. Simon. It's nice to see Judd but overall just a waste of his time other than allowing us to be like, "Oh nice, it's Judd Hirsch!"

Stephen McKinley Henderson plays Lester. This man's ability to take a small role and almost tear my heart out remains unparalleled. I'm not sure the D/W/E team deserves the credit, but he dragged them up to his level.

Matthew Broderick played Mr. Fitzhugh, a former Wall Street investor who is being evicted from the Tower and joins the heist team. He was deprived of an arc or even the chance to be three dimensional. Suspicious some good stuff is on the cutting room floor.

Alan Alda played Arthur Shaw, the antagonist. Pure entitled asshole. We all hate it when Alan plays these roles, but he understood the assignment. Not his most notable villain, but perfectly serviceable.

Casey Affleck played Charlie, one of Josh's relatives that also worked at the Tower. The thru-line of the character made sense but the writing never fully committed to whether he was an idiot, good guy, or asshole.

Eddie Murphy plays Slide, a criminal from Josh's neighborhood. This character HAD to look better on paper before they started because this was IMHO an odd role for him. I will credit that he stayed in it, but was left wondering why. Kept expecting a twist.

Ben Stiller plays the lead, Josh Kovaks, an earnest and honest building manager whose mistakes put his employees and friends livelihoods at risk. He decides to do whatever he has to in order to make it right.

Checking out Tower Heist (2011) because I have the impression it is Thanksgiving adjacent.

From the Monticello website. They say it didn't start there, but we will continue to credit James Hemmings in this house.
