Illegal, unconstitutional, and an elevation of ICE’s encroachment. This needs to have national attention. 1/2

Military hero Hugh Thompson Jr, a man of integrity and honor, was from Pineville, Louisiana. Louisiana Rep. Mike Johnson isn't fit to even say his name.

It's time to remind people of Hugh Thompson. In 1968 hundreds of unarmed Vietnamese were killed by US soldiers in the Mỹ Lai Massacre. Before the last few survivors were about to be killed Thompson & his helicopter crews arrived.

This reminds me of Cardinal John Henry Newman's book Definition of a Gentleman. I often cite Newman's book because it's so instructive. The term gentleman is so overwrought and frequently abused, but to the degree it means anything at all, I think Newman captures it here:

I've been strolling around central London after dark, by myself, for four days and haven't seen any signs of imminent collapse. Weird. Could it be she's lying? (Answer: Yes) #London

what a paragraph - from The Story of Gardening by Martin Hoyles. This is the intro to the second chapter, explaining how you need to think about international relations and colonialism to understand English gardening.

Some news: tomorrow at 9am, Ted Koppel + CBS Sunday Morning will air a two-part story on the devastating surge of full-time workers being pushed into homelessness.

I'll be interviewed along with two families from There Is No Place for Us. It would mean a lot if you'd watch and help spread the word.

The Wash Post Editorial Board published one of the most reckless pieces of “journalism” I’ve ever seen, attacking NYC Mayor-Elect Zohran Mamdani.

The article is replete with disinfo, half truths, & anti-Black racism. I dismantle each of their claims—with receipts

The last 24 hours show how deeply the victim mentality is in armchair liberals. One moment of deductive reasoning would silence the gnashing of teeth. 🙄🧐

FFS. The subsidies would have expired in Dec if the shutdown continued. The Dems just forced Repubs to go ON RECORD by either voting or refusing to hold a vote to extend the subsidies. Liberals are so quick to claim defeat.
