Police charge man in historical sexual assault investigation We have laid charges in connection with a sexual assault that occurred in Calgary in January 2015. At the time of the incident, the victim and the accused were in a relationship. The assault involved both sexual violence and choking. In August 2025, the victim came forward to report the assault, prompting an investigation. As a result, we’ve charged Bryan James HAYWARD, 37, of Hamilton, Ont. with one count each of: Sexual assault Choking with intent HAYWARD is currently in custody in Hamilton and his next court appearance has not been scheduled. In Canada, there is no time limit for reporting sexual assault. Anyone who believes they are a victim is encouraged to come forward, regardless of how much time has passed since the incident. Bluesky seems like it might be the best place to post this. Saw this at chapters, only $12, picked it up as kind of a gag gift for the kid. She's in her late teens. I've never read this book or even know what's in it but a friend suggested bad idea. She's big into horror, goth, etc. Thoughts? Dumb?
