I think that for the vast majority of us, we can do neither. Please see my upcoming book: "How to not write novels and not influence people" for more information.

I haven't read it, but you seem to disagree with the majority of critics. Although, anything by King at this point may just get a pass regardless of anything else just because of the author.

It was about 153 degrees Delisle when I got up, but then it went up to about 145. It's going to get colder tonight though and go down to about 168.

I got stuck on a train in business class across from two people who for two hours discussed their various romantic entanglements in vivid detail while I was trying to work, so I understand this idea completely.

That person needs therapy, real or fake Bill O'Reilly, definitely therapy.

I cannot fathom the idea of pretending to be someone that terrible anywhere.

He's always a straight shooter when he's aiming for laughs. At least he wasn't stringing us along and got to the point quickly.

Come on, you own a house, you're not a Millennial. Heck, you're not even one of the people that we get to argue what generation you're in, I think everyone would agree you're Gen-X, unlike Millennials where there's about four years difference around the start date for that generation.

I think it's intentional to try to make us more dependent on their terrible AI. Just make everything but AI as useless as possible so that people won't have any other options left.

Where is the mushroom? I need the mushroom!!

Go fast and break things! Wait, not those things! We needed THOSE things, stop breaking them!

Even a quart is more expensive than that, and that's for the store brand here.

For every task left to do, shave that portion off your beard off as a progress indicator of where you are in the process. You won't have to ever answer questions about "are you almost done" again as we can all look and see "he's 8/10ths shaved, we're almost there"!

The altright pipeline is anything that gets people emotional enough to lose their ability to reason. It can be veganism, nationalism, economics, racism, almost anything. It just has to be what you can use to push people over the edge into blindly making choices and get that choice to be your cult.

Flew over it obviously.

I will live vicariously through your snow. We're getting an inch of rain here instead of snow, so that's a bummer. The business-person part of me is happy that I don't have to close my office, but the dad part of me wants to go sledding with the kids before they get too old for that.

If they actually cared about the DOJ getting convictions, I would be concerned, but since the only thing that they are about is trying to punish Democrats and issuing pardons to criminals that promise to give Trump money, it's all working exactly as intended.

The question is, who is he trying to gaslight? If it's people who are actually sensitive to minor price changes, it's going to fail, but if he's trying to convince people who never buy their own groceries? Maybe it will work, but those people probably don't care in the first place so why bother?

Look how high up the collar is and how it stays there stiffly. I think that this outfit was picked to cover something up, or because he couldn't wear a tie for some reason. I don't think this is a fashion choice, I think it's a disguise. Just a guess though, I don't have any proof of anything.

John, we totally can't tell it's sarcasm. It's so good you told us it was, otherwise we would NEVER have figured it out ourselves!

I've had a client receive one of these, not exactly like this, but a scam by mail. You're definitely right, it's got to be more expensive, but if they are doing it, they must think it works out economically. Obviously you opened it though, which is probably more than you would do for an email.

I was never even in the active duty military, and even I had a bunch of instruction about lawful orders and things like that for Air Force operations. The lawyers obviously it more, but we were tasked with actively informing other officers if we believed an order was illegal and to not follow it.

When it became obvious that the Nazi regime was doomed, a lot of the military stopped following Hitler's orders as well. They knew that they would wind up in front of a tribunal at some point, or have to live in the world after the war and made a better decision. I have faith ours will too.
November 20, 2025 at 4:05 PM
Well, he also wanted to have attorneys who defend immigrants in federal court, or doing SIJ work anywhere else, declared as terrorists, so this seems about par. I'm not a traitor to the country, but I'm no lackey to this regime, come pick on someone with institutional support and see how it goes!

I would be surprised if he ordered a nuclear first strike, of any kind, that the order would be obeyed. An E3 might follow an order to go plug in a helium line for a weapon without question, but the O8 who has to give the actual firing order is a lot more likely to give it some thought.

Everyone following the law and understanding what the law is makes for a far greater society than where one man makes the law and everyone else tries to figure out what that law is and to follow, or not, depending on the winds of the day. Even rich people want laws, makes keeping their money easier
