This is a great example of #paralleltranslation at WITNe, taking advantage of existing surgical procedures to supplement mechanistic insights into neuromodulation therapies from benchtop, cell culture/organoid, computational modeling, small animal, and large animal studies.

I always wonder why CMV and Toxo have different calcification pattern? Do you think it has to do with their size, ie CMV is much smaller and can spread to/ through the csf?

Interesting… looking at the bimodal organization of the vagal nerve (iopscience.iop.org/article/10.1... ), it’s likely that the patient’s vocal cord paresis came from trauma/ dissections of the medial vagal fascicles that would give rise to the recurrent laryngeal branch?
