It took me until yesterday to realise that both Stereolab and Swans released new albums last month, and they're both very good!

I’ve been at my parents’ place for a week and breathing a sigh of relief to be heading back home now (even if I have to travel via London). Very happy to spend time with my family, but I’m at the point where I need my own space back!

My research being primarily interview based means that I’m doing a lot of listening to recordings of my own voice for the transcription process, and I don’t think any degree of exposure is going to alleviate how excruciating that is.

I was wondering whether there was enough leeway in my reading schedule to permit a re-read of (perhaps) my favourite series; Robin Hobb’s Farseer Trilogy, but I realised that I only have book 2 at my flat, and that 1 and 3 must be in some unidentified box elsewhere.
Once again, cursing past me.

I got this (£16!!!) cocktail in a pipe-shaped glass. My friend spilled it all over my trousers and I spent the weekend smelling like whisky because I didn’t bring another pair.
(And it was fine! I felt bad for her, because I’ve done stuff like that before and it’s made me feel so embarrassed).

I’m not sure why it’s taken me so long to get around to reading these books, but I can imagine they’ll prove themselves relevant to the near future.
