The majority of people who likely voted to keep FFFG in place are the ones who will within 10-20 years unfortunately be unable or unwilling to drive on all these roads we have funding for in lieu of better mass transit alternatives. It’s the short-term brain of FFFG itself.

Yours etc, from a packed Broombridge where hundreds of people move between tram, train and bus daily.

“It’s the faster train that makes it work. Imagine if we invested in trains?” Imagine. That’s all we can do. Because we live in a backwater on the edge of Europe that doesn’t care about the majority of the people who want to live a decent life and grown old gently in it.

Bumped into a friend earlier doing some lecturing part-time in Dublin city. Bought a gaff in Naas coz it was affordable. Cycles the canal path to Sallins, pops the bike in a locker then takes the “fast” Galway train to Heuston where he picks up a public bike. Has it down to an art.

I was caught totally on the hop in the middle of a meeting and was expecting An Post to collect a package. Never got a chance to ask where the bogus self-employment contracts were at or how many license fees RTÉ have spent taking Dept of Social Protection to court.
