i agree it doesn't need to be a foolproof plan, but something a little smarter would have been more satisfying imo.

it hinged on so much outside of alastor's control, there were a million ways for it to go wrong. the fact that it didn't is pure luck (contrivance). and im talking about the magical beams at the end - not even mad at it being corny , just, a little set up for the magical hope beam would be nice

there are also a lot of silly criticisms, so i try to be as a fair as i can be on it. but yeah, they really do not have enough runtime for a cast of this size, its a shame

they hammered in multiple times that alastor's deal with vox would be vox's undoing, and tbh it wasn't even a good plan 😭 between that and the care bear stare (and other things), the season felt poorly crafted and i get why people are disappointed

hazbin really struggles with setup and payoff - the most common ways to fuck that up are forgetting to lay the groundwork for the payoff OR making the setup too painfully obvious/contrived, and it happens with almost everything. the angel spy reveal was decent, though.

label me a hater if u must........ i enjoy elements of the show enough to overlook the weak writing but its hard work sometimes
