Great to attend the lighting of Arthur Dooley’s famous “Black Christ” statue, which is such an important part of L8’s heritage. Big turn out on a cold night too showing how highly regarded it is by the local community. Thanks to Princes Park Methodist Church and Tommy Calderbank for organising!

A new local secondary school and a thriving community centre will bring real benefits to the L8 community for many years to come.

I look forward to working with the council, the African Caribbean Centre and Eden School as the scheme moves forward.

Great to visit Baby Basics Liverpool this week to learn about their work and support for babies and new mums across Liverpool and especially in L8.

They welcome donations of new and pre-loved baby equipment, toiletries and clothes for 0-2 year olds.

I’m pleased to announce that the land & properties on Ducie St are now back in Liverpool City Council ownership as of this morning.

Contractors are already on site clearing rubbish & debris. Following the clearance, the sites will be hoarded off to prevent further fly tipping.
