I think I confused myself: I interviewed Will about that book before it came out and was sent a b/w galley xeroxed from when they were in the WE Quarterly (?). Something in my brain was thinking the DHC one was a reprint.

It's a great volume. I love how you got this edition of it: Most I got my hands on was the reprint in the '90s or so.

We had a butter thief, Fiegenbaum, an orange cat who led us to getting a plastic butterdish that shuts tight. Many a glass dish fell victim to his urges. And room temp butter on Saltine crackers is actually really, really good.

Jules Feiffer told me folks who bashed Great Comic Book Heroes were mostly upset he wrote it before they did. I look at bad reviews saying more about the reviewer than the work itself, because it wouldn't be a bad review if it was sincere and constructive.
