It will also make landfall on the western side of island, which will produce surge for much of the south coast.

There is so much that is truly historic about #HurricaneMelissa. There has never been a Cat4/5 hurricane that has approached from the south. This angle of approach is the worse case scenario for storm surge.

There is so much that is truly historic about #HurricaneMelissa. There has never been a Cat4/5 hurricane that has approached from the south. This angle of approach is the worse case scenario for storm surge.
