Yet not all of that investment is reaching those it is designed to support. Over the last 3 years in the North East, South Yorkshire & West Mids alone:

💸 £256m of profit was made from care
🏝️ £88m of that went to private equity firms, companies based in tax havens (or both)

Billions are spent by local authorities each year to fund care services - £50bn in England - including £3.8bn in the regions we investigated: the North East, South Yorkshire & West Mids 💰

We rightly expect that money to work hard for us, our loved ones, and the people who care for them 🫂
