I've seen developers talk about this! There's been a study, it turns out.
Most people pick the 'good' option when given a choice in a game, but the people who pick the 'evil' choice are usually MORE SATISFIED. The latter often want to challenge the game and see how far it lets them take this.

It is in fact Treno. The lanterns are the ones you see outside the Tetra Master house, and the building the WoL's standing in front of in one screenshot is the auction house.

I just think it's helpful to also defuse it with 'fact', as well as underlining that the narrative itself is broadly against the reading.

Mega-Meganium with Giga Drain does a pretty good job of facetanking basically everything that's not poison-type, and that does at least put it above a decent chunk of other megas.

It is genuinely the main reason I'd argue that Final Mix is worse for a casual playthrough.
Have all the bullshit overtuned bonus bosses you want, but putting one in the critical path is stepping over the line.

I think variant dungeons have the right spirit, but haven't found the right mix of ingredients.

I respect the smooth gameplay experience of FFXIV dungeons, but we deserve a real fucker of a dungeon design every so often. A map that you look at and go 'I don't get it and I feel a little sick just trying to figure it out'.

The level cap roulette is a great exercise in humility for this.
All of your knowledge of the entire game's history you could retain falls apart the moment you see a weird Stormblood dungeon and go 'how the fuck does this boss even work'

XII is a good game, but I think suffers from being kind of a weird evolutionary dead end in the series. It'd probably feel like it was more at home if there were other games like it to link it up to, but instead it just sorta... happened.
Xenoblade feels like it took a lot of notes, though.

Also I only disagree in that I think XV has the worst combat system system. XIII is at least trying something and has ideas, XV is just a weirdly shitty take on character action games.

There's certain things where, if someone says it's their favorite, I question if they actually have an opinion or if they're just parroting a publicly-accepted favorite.
It's kinda weird that I've seen this happen to Tactics over time. It's one of these NOW, but it wasn't, like, five years ago.
