Bone Temple review is up now with the Ithaca Times! It's good, just not nearly as good as 28 Years Later

“28 Years Later: The Bone Temple” Is a Deliciously Unholy Mix of Zombies, Satan, and Jimmy Savile
Another year, another horror movie where Jack O’Connell plays a creep. Last year, he was the earnest, sympathetic singing Irish vampire in Ryan Coogler’s Oscar darling “Sinners,” but in “28

so from what I can tell from The Discourse, Ben Affleck, Matt Damon, and Joe Carnahan remade THE TREASURE OF THE SIERRA MADRE and it gently sucks

had a dream that I met John Krasinski in person and he just vented to me about how bummed he was that IF was a massive failure. I was like "it's okay man let it out"

one of the ways you can tell we're living in the Worst of Times is that the lyrics to "Love It If We Made It" are just as relevant now as they were back in 2018

I reviewed HAMNET for the Ithaca Times! Rare example of a movie I'm just kind of lukewarm on but which, as I write my review, I realize, "Wait, this might be a great movie"

“Hamnet” Will Break Your Heart A Dozen Different Ways
Most stories are ghost stories. Characters haunted by their past, haunted by people they’ve lost, haunted by their actions. The ghost in “Hamnet,” a new costume drama film by director

I reviewed MARTY SUPREME for the Ithaca Times a week or so ago. If Timmy is gonna win an Oscar for one of these, I hope it's this one

“Marty Supreme” Races, Cheats, and Leaps Into the Future
Marty Mauser is great at table tennis, but that’s not good enough. He has to be the best in the world. It’s an infectious, poisonous, absurd dream, in a sport

I reviewed the doc MEN OF WAR, which dives into the U.S.'s unsuccessful attempt to stage a coup in Venezuela back in 2020. I hope more people see this one, and I hope literally everyone in the Trump administration goes to jail over this.

In 30 years we will get Clint Eastwood's sycophantic and terrible WAR AGAINST GREENLAND about the US invasion of Greenland and the much better companion film, LETTERS FROM KANGERLUSSUAQ, told from the Greenland perspective.
