Just finished listening through to all of the songs I hadn't heard on the Staff List. Always one of my favorite annual traditions, love the genre diversity ("Bad State of Mind" was a fun pick)! Gotta assume there was some qualifying rule about songs from Ohio-based bands not being eligible...?

The thing that bums me out the most is how this essentially torpedoes Phil's chances of getting a gold jacket. He wasn't getting in this year, but by the time he's eligible again, voters will be a decade removed from remembering his actual career and he'll have dropped in a lot of the stat rankings

Just taught about the Obama administration this week to college freshmen who all listed his election as the first historic event they remembered. Brought up a lot of these cultural touchstones in one of the slides. I've never heard my bones creak louder.

Those nights are really hard. My least favorite part of grad school. Dont be afraid to reach out to loved ones and even other grad students to vent and ask for encouragement. Wishing you all the best.
