Sparkling somewhere on the trans-spectrum.

Supportive, but cynical. Prone to hyper-fixation, impractical adventures and spending years hiding under the duvet.

Only interested in people who get it, not people who want it.
His response to the Cass review was excrable.

His politics seem to change with the wind.

Career politician with no apparent principles.

Same.. except probably to 2025, and there wouldn't be much "try" about it, only "do".

And if it allows for specific places to decide to be transphobic, then... OK, let's see how that helps your business.

Legalised transvestigation? Kinda on brand for this government.

On the other hand, it does sound a little like The Times are trying to spin this as a "win" when the majority of places may simply choose to carry on as normal? The final document could yet change the tide.

Been there, done that, wearing the t-shirt.

Seriously tho' - great events, good crowd, lots of fun.

I thought we had the monopoly on brainworms.

I throw myself before the council.

(But carefully, this outfit is new).

Effectively, he's said out loud that the press are completely unable to hold him to account.

Their response? "Yeah, you're right."

That would have ended careers only a few years ago.

I'm waiting for the trans-hammer. You stand there, the Doctor takes a good run up and a swing... and then BLAM... Goddess mode on.
November 19, 2025 at 2:13 PM
I note you're currently being harangued on the bad place for not saying the quiet bit out loud enough on trans issues.

It seems that in some groups, the beliefs are sufficiently embedded that it no longer feels controversial or dangerous to say them.

We're all racist here, right?

My working theory is that any party that gets into power is faced by the same lobbyists, the same corporate advisors, the same experts and the same civil servants. Many MPs positively rely on all of that 'advice', but even the few that don't end up pushed down the same path.

And nothing changes.

You're right of course, and it's astonishing that we are surprised when it happens. This should be basic "machinery of government" stuff.

I guess my issue is that they've burnt through all their good will without seriously tackling the difficult bits - foundations and direction of government.

I know everyone likes to focus on Brexit, but at some point we're going to have to face up to the fact that there is an astonishing level of incompetence in UK government.

Sure, a thing happened... but what are they currently doing to improve just basic daily life? The answer includes swear words.

I shouldn't be, but I'm positively willing one on. This particular bubble has been an enabler for some of the worst behaviour we've seen for decades.

Sadly, I suspect that the 'power players' in the techbro sphere will come away relatively unscathed - what's a few billion between friends?

Sometimes it can be a community thing.

Sometimes it just takes one person to say "this should happen".

If no-one ever dares say "this could happen"... it never will.

My absolute fave item at the moment is my gender affirming jeans.

People miss that Google only want you to leave search when you're going to a high value paid link that will maxmise their revenue.

Gemini allows them to keep you on the "search page" without leaving for any of the low value (to them) information sites they scrape.

Search is now just a sales funnel

I'm surprised more people don't share the dream...

Our imaginations are too beaten down.

A few big funds have sold out of Nvidia in the last week. Earnings tomorrow... this could be interesting.

That said, it's incredible how long a market can remain irrational. Anything could happen. Or not happen.

Depressing though it is.. there are *worse* places for UK trans folk to get their brainworms.

For those of us who aren't in major metropolitan centres, the lure of an online community is pretty hard to resist.

*theatrical sigh*
