Providing different options for how to give is a way of meeting the donor where they are. Options like having a direct transfer from a brokerage account to avoid capital gains tax can incentivize the donor to give even more.

There is a responsibility for the military to reach out to civilians and for civilians to understand their military. On the military side, it's important for them to leave the mega-bases and military towns and show up to local county fairs, rotary clubs, etc. #ClassACTHR73Forum

The issue with military, masking, and other issues related to ICE is there is no operational planning for what is happening on the ground right now. The DC police chief said he wasn't even notified. There have been instances of "friendly fire," and that concerns Juliette Kayyem. #ClassACTHR73Forum

When we hear "militia" we often think of masked people in the mountains, but the 2nd amendment also refers to the National Guard, says LTG (Ret.) David W. Barno. He agrees it isn't the 2nd amendment that's causing political violence.

Conservative governors may be willing to deploy their national guard to blue cities in November 2026, not to enforce but just to suggest voter fraud, etc. It will be difficult to have the military decide if that is illegal or immoral. Those issues must be litigated. #ClassACTHR73Forum

Because we haven't had a president who tried to expand executive powers the way Trump is, we've left a lot of "sloppy" laws around that allow the president to issue "lawful by awful" orders.
